Alyssa was born and raised in Wisconsin, then sought out change and moved to southern California for some time before coming to Tennessee. She is passionate about gardening, growing her own food, and fostering animals. For over ten years, she has adopted out hundreds of kittens – and fostered her own. She even certified her property as a wildlife habitat!
“Be a team player and don’t be afraid to ask questions” – A.S.
Her Time with Urban Transit
Alyssa has been committed to the Urban Transit team for around three years! One of her favorite parts of being on the team is the environment and the people in it. She appreciates the kindness everyone has and how little drama arises in the office.
Proud Accomplishments
Alyssa is a hard worker and team player – and it shows! She has earned Employee of the Quarter twice during her time here and is proud of those rewards. She truly takes the time to grow in her knowledge and is proud of what she has learned. For example, she learned the hard skill of using and understanding Powerpoint!
A Personal Goal
Her passion for animals and growing her own food is wonderful – and a goal she has is to grow and produce nearly all of her, and her chickens’ food, for a full year!
A Piece of Advice
We asked Alyssa what advice she would give someone starting in this field or her position, and she shared the importance of being a team player. One of Urban Transit’s fundamental values is collaboration + unity. We believe in welcoming opinions and diversity in decision-making, brainstorming, and day-to-day activities. Urban Transit is lucky to have Alyssa for many reasons, including because she shares that speaking up and not being afraid to ask questions is important.
Another key piece of advice from her: have fun!
